After ten years and hundreds of kilometres of material in over 140 towns, Pink Trees For Pauline continues to look to the future with exuberance and great excitement.
The colourful headscarf of the 2022 Pink Trees For Pauline #doekwithadifference campaign in partnership with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) will reach communities across South Africa for the fifth consecutive year.
“Khalil Gibran says that Beauty is not in the face; Beauty is a light in the heart. Thank you to those who share the beauty of their humanity by serving, giving, caring and participating with passion and dedication to Pink Trees for Pauline and making a difference in cancer communities and their families across the country,” says Adri Jansen van Nieuwenhuizen, Managing Director of Pink Trees for Pauline. “The organisation has gone from strength to strength since 2012 and, with the assistance of CANSA over the last five years, we have raised significantly more funds specifically for care and support programmes for cancer patients.”
“CANSA is passionate about the care and service of patients,” says Gerda Strauss, CANSA Head: Services. “During COVID-19, the needs of our patients and their loved ones increased dramatically. Through our long-term partnership with Pink Trees for Pauline, and the funds that are raised, we can make a big impact. We can assist patients in need by providing diapers, meal replacements, wheelchairs and other medical assistive devices. CANSA values this relationship and we look forward to a fantastic 2022 campaign where we can make a difference in the lives of many cancer patients across South Africa.”
Strauss elaborated further on their achievements in the previous financial year, “we were able to provide HBC to 357 patients in the Gauteng Area as well as sponsoring the cost of 6 weeks’ accommodation for ten patients. We were also able to repair and update medical equipment and FotoFinder Skin Screening devices.”
The public as well as the business sector can make a contribution to this inspiring project, thereby brightening their own lives and the lives of others. The unique headscarves are sold for R100 each, hoop earrings for R50, stainless steel earrings for R100 and pink material to decorate trees for R30 p/m. Hannon Cherry lipstick is also available at R170. Pink Trees for Pauline invites clubs, workplaces, schools, institutions and individuals to enthusiastically participate in the #doekwithadifference project.
