The thought of one of our warriors who fought a long battle against cancer moving on, freed from all the pain…it just makes one stop to contemplate life…
In August Annerees commented on a blog “…ek wil weer al die eer aan ons Hemelse Vader gee sonder Sy krag en genade wat deur my are vloei sal ek beslis nie hierdie pad kan stap nie!! Beslis sonder al die ander mense se gebede ook nie want daar waar ek wil struikel dra jul gebede my. Daie dankie vir al jul Liefde!!! Geseënde dag vir elkeen van julle!!”
Annerees was a formidable warrior. The earth has lost a bright shining star and heaven rejoiced at her arrival. In spite of her battle with cancer and the pain she had to endure, Annerees gave of herself and served the Kroonstad cancer community relentlessly. Her humility was endearing and the manner in which she honoured our Creator for His grace and answered prayers was a true testimony of her rock fast faith.
Although I was painfully aware of Annerees’ illness I was startled at how her angelic face hid all traces of discomfort when I saw her earlier this year. Nothing could hinder the light in her beautiful eyes. And the tone in her voice was gentle and full of hope the last time we spoke.
Annerees, you carried your burden with such grace. Could it be that you had a heavenly glimpse, knowing that soon all pain will subside and wholeness await? Your memory will forever live on dear friend. Till we meet again…
