BECOME ONE OF A THOUSAND AMBASSADORS AND STAND A CHANCE TO WIN!

Jul 24, 2015

It is freezing cold throughout South Africa, but definitely not in the hearts of thousands of volunteers who will shortly start working on the Pink Trees for Pauline initiative. Like in previous years, kilometres of pink material will be sold and wrapped around trees, fences, buildings, cars and anything you can think of. This is done to raise funds and awareness for cancer patients and their families who are living with cancer. Managing Director Adri Jansen van Nieuwenhuizen confirmed that this year’s project will kick off with a bang! The Pink Trees for Pauline Team went all out to ensure that cancer communities all over South Africa will again benefit greatly from the project, and that the project is more exciting that ever!

Adri said that she is extremely excited to announce that a competition will be launched to celebrate the start of the 2015 Pink Trees for Pauline project. The Pink Trees for Pauline Win a Car Competition will be launched on Wednesday 22 July 2015! Members of the public will stand a chance to win a brand new Honda Brio Amaze 2015 to the value of R150 000 when they purchase a ticket on the official Pink Trees for Pauline website, www.pinktrees.co.za. Only 1000 tickets will be made available and the competition will run until Friday 9 October 2015. The car will officially be presented to the winner during an elegant High Tea in George on Friday 16 October 2015 on the National Pink Trees for Pauline ‘Give Back’ day. What a wonderful way to celebrate the 2015 project!

“As a registered cancer organisation and a member of Cancer Alliance,” Adri continued, “Pink Trees for Pauline is probably most proud of the fact that various cancer organisations benefit from the funds raised across South Africa. Some of the registered cancer organisations that have benefitted are Cansa, Mount Hope Hospice, Hospice, Kankervereniging en Distrikte, Cancervive and Reach for Recovery.” In towns where there are no active cancer organizations the appointed committee allocates the funds to cancer communities in need. During 2014 more than 64km material was sold and the project was done in 101 towns with an estimated population of 3 720 342 of which more than 75% are disadvantaged. The funds raised through this initiative was allocated to the cancer communities in the specific towns in which it was raised.

An exciting year lies ahead for everybody taking part in this initiative. It seems that a couple of things need to be done: Immediately find out how you and your community can contribute to the project, and then keep an eye on the official website and Facebook page of Pink Trees for Pauline to enter the competition. You never know…you might just be the one driving away with a brand new Honda Brio Amaze!
